AIG Garba Musa Yusuf Takes Over as Head of Maritime Command at Force HQ Annex, Lagos

To bolster security and tackle criminal activities within Nigeria’s ports and the broader maritime sector, the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police for Maritime Command, Garba Musa Yusuf, led his management team on a maiden courtesy visit to the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) headquarters in Marina, Lagos, on Monday, January 20, 2025.

During discussions with the NPA’s management, AIG Yusuf underscored the importance of collaboration and synergy between the Maritime Police Command and the NPA in addressing crime within the port environment.

He assured the NPA of the Maritime Police Command’s unwavering commitment to providing efficient and effective policing at the ports. He also highlighted the necessity of regular communication between the Command and the NPA to swiftly tackle any criminal elements disrupting port operations.

In a statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Okoi Arikpo, AIG Yusuf reaffirmed his determination to eliminate illicit activities in and around Nigeria’s ports.

This visit represents a crucial step toward strengthening partnerships and enhancing security measures across the nation’s vital maritime infrastructure.
